This family was such a joy to work with- April found me on VarageSale, of all places, and we met at Buck Creek on a beautiful sunny afternoon for their first family session in years (so relatable, right?). I feel that I would be remiss if I didn't take this opportunity to issue a PSA (public service announcement, not the other lol) regarding family photos. Speaking from my own experience as a mom, it's stressful to wrangle a group of kids (or 1), coordinate outfits, comb hair, and get your mascara on without blinking and getting that second set of lashes on your eyelid lol. We get that. If you go tell your kids, "Hey guys, it's time to get dressed and go take pictures, who's in?" and everyone raises their hand in the air and you hear echos shouting "me too! me too- you are the best mom EVER!", you have probably dozed on the couch and will awaken with drool trickling down the side of your cheek and your 4 year old screaming for a snack. Ok, maybe that's a realistic hyperbolic example, but you get the picture. What I would like to say is that despite the craziness, one day you will be so glad you took those pictures. I recommend yearly pictures for all families- kids grow and change so much from one year to the next! So what to do about the stress? Call me, of course! We like to have fun at our sessions, and choosing a photographer who has experience with children helps immensely. As we prepare for your session, I can address any concerns you have and suggest some ways to alleviate that all too familiar anxiety.
April and Chris, thank you so much for choosing us to photograph your beautiful family! Caleb, Jacob, Isaac, and Emily, you guys were so much fun and you kept your parents in line for us ;-) I hope you enjoy your images!!
